Warli Painting

Filtrer
Warli tribal art was recognized only in 1970 mainly because the tribals shunned contemporary life and chose to stay in shadows. Their art was originally made on walls as murals have a central motif which is surrounded by many simple motifs in triangular and circle shapes depicting various activities of their lives like farming, hunting etc. It represents a man and if the lower triangle is wide then it is a woman. Festive dancing is one of the most attractive features in Warli art. You will see concentric circles of men and women and a tarpa (trumpet) motif in the centre.
